This is another article that was in the Lake County news
So I told my wife to just keep taking names and
numbers and that I would be home in about an hour.
I was petty tired by the time I got, yet I was still riding on
cloud 9. The first call I returned was to NBC5, they
wanted to see if it was ok for them to come out to my
house and do an interview and film some of my house. I
said sure just give me a couple of hours, so I could dust
off my collection. Two hours later the NBC5 news van
pulls up to my house followed by another car, and out
of the other car is Anita Padilla. I met them at the door
and with in minutes they (the camera crew) where down
in my basement filming .NBC5 Tape (it take a minute to
start)
They were at the house for about an hour and a half,
but you wouldn't know it by the tape. It does take a
while to put on mics and set the lighting. This was a lot
of fun, the camera guy had a lot of good stories about
the Bears since he has done alot of the games. And
Anitas father is also a huge Bear fan. After they left I
started to return some of the other phone calls that I
had missed earlier.
The Score 670 AM, set up a time to call me the next
morning to be on one of the football talk shows. I also
had Round Lake Heights very own station WRLR 98.3
FM want me to come in for a on air interview at 5pm. I
was happy to do it since this is my towns own station,
and it turned out to be a lot of fun both of the Djs were
also huge Bear fans, they even gave me an sweater that
was from the Great 85' SuperBowl team.
I found this on the web, when i
googled my name. This is just one
of many I found. I thought this one
was the best since it was out of
Texas, which is were my mother
and the rest of my family now live.

Well the next morning after doing a quick interview
over the phone with Mike from the Score, I thought my
15 minutes were up. When WGN9 called (I guess I
forgot to call them back) They wanted to send out
Juan Carlos Fanjul to do an interview with me for the 9
o'clock news that night. I don't have a tape or a link for
that interview. Knowing when this interview was going
to be shown at least I was able to call all my friends
and let them know when to watch it.
I ended up at Buffalo wings that evening when it aired,
most of the TVs were tuned into the news since there
were no games playing on Saturday. So when the
interview came on just about everyone in the place
started cheering. Now that is such a great feeling to be
cheered upon for being a die-hard Bear fan. I even had
a lady that was visiting from China ask me for an
autograph!! I couldn't believe it, here I am getting all
this publicity for getting autographs and I'm giving
mine to some one, And I can't forget the shots and
beers that everyone brought me the rest of the night.
The next day I was so hyped up I not sure if I even slept
of an hour, Today was game day the Bears vs Carolina.
I'm not going to write a lot about this day because like
the players, it's a game that I want to put out of my
mind. With the Bears losing that game my 15 minutes of
fame would have to wait for next season at least that's
what i'm hoping.
Boy was I wrong about a month later, I got a call from
Eric Twig from Broken Twig Production Company out
of Los Angeles, California. He said his company was
shooting a series for The Fox Sport Network, to do with
extreme fans. And they would be coming out to
Chicago in a week to film a die-hard Cubs fan and a
Sox fan, that they would like me to be the one to
represent the Bears.
The day that they were going to come over and film my
part of the show just happened to land on a day that I
was going to see Keith Van Horne at the Harley
dealership in Woodstock. And I wasn't about to lose
out of a chance on added Keith to my list, so I told Eric
that I couldn't do the show. When I told him why he was
like Hey! Can we film that it would be great!
